Sanctuary: House of Community Dance Elevation
"Manifest Destiny," has to do with the premise that what was meant for destruction, the untimely deaths of our young people in Taos through overdoes, violence, suicide has fueled a fire of hope within our hearts, a fertile ground where seeds have been planted that have spread out into the community, to the country, and globally. Death and tragedy have become the catalyst of growth and life, and awakened positivity via creative outlets, education and social activism. "We have seen a movement rise up in our community through much loss. Our Manifest Destiny is that creative outlets continue to evolve and grow and spread throughout the community, where young people in Taos have access to multiple venues of expression. That this inspiration that has began in our hearts continue to radiate and push forward towards building hope, love, and unity," says Christalyn Concha, aka Dj Chrystalline. Saturday May 13th, 3-5p, The BassMint in collaboration with Taos Academy's STEM A+ Institute, presents Manifest Destiny, an afternoon of student dj presentations, music, dance, food (potluck) and fun.
